Celebrate with the Silver City Main Street District at the Silver City Day festival on June 2, 2007 from noon to 8:00 pm.   The event will be held on National Avenue, from 31st St. to Miller Park Way.  Festivities include appearances from Milwaukee Wave and Milwaukee Admirals representatives, live bands, a motorcycle show and children’s activities.  Area businesses will also offer a raffle and Silver Dollar specials.

Kick it with the Milwaukee Wave during Silver City Day at their Power Kick Station from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  The Admirals will bring their Inflatable from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  The Charles Walker Band will sing the blues at Mamie’s at 3300 W. National from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  Cruise over to the Moccasin Bar at 3749 W. National for a motorcycle show and concerts by One Ton Banana from noon to 4:00 pm and Hard Drive from 4:30 to 7:00 pm.  Entertain the kids with airbrush tattoos, carnival games, and the unveiling of coloring contest winners at the Silver City Main Street Office on 3605 W. National Avenue.

Silver City business owners will offer “Silver Dollar Specials” during Silver City Day to celebrate the district’s rich history.  Workers from the Menomonee Valley in the 1800’s spent their hard-earned silver dollars in the district, “coining” the name, Silver City.
