Looking for a Summer Volunteer Opportunity? Hunger Task Force relies on the dedication and talents of its volunteers in order to realize our mission of providing food to the hungry for free, and with dignity. We greatly appreciate your donations of time and talent. Please review the volunteer opportunities below. Summer Festivals and State Fair Slather on the sunscreen for a good cause! We need volunteers at select summer festivals and the Wisconsin State Fair to accept food donations and then load them onto trucks. Volunteers must be in good physical condition, be able to lift 30 pounds and be able to stand their entire shift.  To register for any of these festivals please call Erin Pugley at (414) 777-0483. Wisconsin State Fair Volunteers needed on Thursday, August 2 for opening day of State Fair. There are two shifts available: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. or 3 p.m.-6:15 p.m. You will be working at one of the eight gates at State Fair Park. Irish Fest Sunday Morning Liturgy for Peace Volunteers needed for Sunday morning, August 19 from 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. This is a popular event so sign up early. GREAT PERK - Volunteers working a festival or State Fair will get into the event for free after their shift is over. Food Sorts Hunger Task Force now has over 50 food sorts scheduled from June 5 through the end of September. This is a great opportunity for anyone that has attended an orientation to help sort thousands of pounds of food so it can be distributed FREE OF CHARGE to our programs. Hunger Task Force is a private, non-profit community organization that exists to prevent and alleviate hunger. Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity.
