The U.S. Chamber recognizes that small business is the backbone of America's economy. They create three-fourths of all new jobs and account for more than one-half of the nation's gross domestic product.
Every year, the Chamber honors the accomplishments of the small business community with the Small Business of the Year Award. The selection committee reviews hundreds of applications in search of those organizations demonstrating the true spirit of enterprise. From these applications, the committee arrives at seven regional finalists who exhibit true customer service, a commitment to community involvement, exceptional staff development and benefits, and high financial performance. All finalists are recognized at the America's Small Business Summit Gala Dinner and one will go on to be named the 2008 Small Business of the Year.
